Wooden Lay Figure Used by Betty Kirke for Draping Exercises
Unknown creator and place of origin, ca. 1920s-1950s.
This type of wood form was used by French dressmaker Madeleine Vionnet (1876-1975) to create many garments cut on the bias that spiraled around the body.
